About AIHA-WI

Who We Are:

The American Industrial Hygiene Association – Wisconsin Section is a regional subdivision of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. The Section’s membership is comprised of professionals working in industrial hygiene and associated fields. As of February 19, 2015, the membership of the section stands at 94 members, a majority of whom maintain professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, CHMM, PE and others. Each year, the Section holds 3 dinner meetings and hosts at least one Professional Development Course.   The section also hosts various AIHA and ACGIH Telewebs.

Membership in the local section costs only $25.00 per year.  Members of the AIHA (parent organization) are automatically qualified for local section membership; applicants who are not members of the AIHA must be approved for membership by a vote of the Executive Committee.  Besides getting plugged-into a friendly network of professional IH’s located throughout the state, some of the other benefits of membership include online access to the entirety of Patty’s Industrial Hygiene & Toxicology, free access to AIHA’s professional development webinars (valued at $245/member annually), members-only pricing for the Local Section’s Professional Development Conferences, the Local Section Membership Directory, e-mail announcements about upcoming meetings and special professional development opportunities, and listing in the publicly-available Local Section Member Consultant Directory for our members who are consultants.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association, founded in 1939, is an organization of professionals dedicated to the prevention of workplace-related illness or injury. With more than 12,000 members, AIHA is the largest international association serving the needs of occupational and environmental scientists and engineers practicing industrial hygiene.

The purposes of AIHA are to promote the field of industrial hygiene, to provide education and training, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information, and to represent the interests of industrial hygienists and those they serve.
