Topic: OSHA Updates for 2010
OSHA has a new administrator, David Michaels, Ph.D., M.P.H., who is committed to making the agency as effective as possible in reducing and eliminating harm to employees. His goals are to promote comprehensive workplace safety and health programs, chemical safety, prevention of hazards through design, development of strong regulations and the enhancement of worker involvement. The new OSHA agenda includes initiatives for 300 Log recordkeeping, process safety management, chemical food flavorings, combustible dust, walking and working surfaces and hazard communication. The agency is also concerned about non-English speaking workers. This presentation will outline OSHA’s enforcement and compliance assistance approaches to meeting the goals of the new administration.
